So what’s the ski area like?
La Plagne is a French Ski area nestled in the alpine Tarentaise valley. La Plagne lies between 1250m in the village of Montchavin up to the heights of 3250m on the Glacier. With 70% of the pistes above 2000m it guarantees optimal snow conditions. Since 2003, when the fastest cable car of its kind in the world was built; the Vanoise Express, it has been linked to its neighbouring resort Les Arc to form the Paradiski area. Together they boast 425km of runs serviced by 130 lifts! This provides a great ski area for intermediate groups and families. Although, don’t let this fool you there is still more challenging runs to be had along with a great selection of off-piste (accessed best safely with an experienced guide).
The resort has a great freestyle offering with two terrain parks, one smaller than the other offering 20 rails and tables as well as an air bag and three Boardercross courses; Les Coches and Champagny and Europe’s longest Boardercross route the Funslope in Bellecote.
