Chef Thom Bateman has joined Alpoholics – not as a consultant, not as a name on the menu, but as a partner and future co-owner of the company.
If you don’t already know Thom: he’s the chef behind The Flintlock, a 2 time “Great British Menu” contestant, and one of the most-followed cooks on social media – millions of people tune in for his way of doing things: maximum flavour and creativity from simple techniques and everyday ingredients, with results that look and taste like they came out of a Michelin starred restaurant kitchen.
No cheffy nonsense, no unicorn ingredients – just seriously good food.
Which, as it happens, is exactly what mountain cooking should be.
Thom came and stayed with us and even jumped into the kitchen one night and produced an incredible impromptu meal which ended up on our chalet menu!
To put it simply, he fell in love with the place (and us!). Now he’s all in: he’s personally designing every menu for next season, breakfast through to dinner, and training every one of our chefs himself – first in the kitchen at his own restaurant, then out in resort before the season starts.
We’ve always believed the food is the heart of a catered chalet holiday. With Thom in the company, the best chalet food in the Alps just got even better and we’d love you to be there to taste it.
