Chalet Chef Role

Alpoholics are looking for talented chefs with positive attitudes and a love of the mountains to be part of our team in La Plagne.  You will design and cook a unique six day menu of outstanding quality, keeping high standards of cleanliness throughout the chalet, controlling stock and budgets and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our guests. You will be adaptable and willing to muck in for the collective effort around the chalet and enjoy meeting new people.

Brief Job Description:

  • Create and plan weekly tailor-made 3 course menus in conjunction with your particular guests’ dietary requirements and available ingredients.
  • Prepare aperitifs and canapés on arrival day.
  • Provide a full continental breakfast as well as a varying ‘hot option’ .
  • Provide children’s dinner if and when appropriate.
  • Maintain weekly budgets and ensure all receipts are submitted in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ensure that your chalet kitchen is always clean and tidy.
  • Assist in keeping your chalet clean and tidy at all times and creating a warm and friendly environment for guests. We’re a team here at Alpoholics so be prepared to step out of the kitchen when needed!
  • Snow clearing when needed.
  • Daily testing and maintenance of hot tub chemical levels

Delicious Afternoon Tea!

Chalet Host Role – Sorry, we are no longer recruiting for chalet host positions for 22/23.

We’re after those with previous hospitality experience to be the beating heart of our chalets and ensuring that our famous addictive chalet experiences are delivered to the max by going above and beyond for our guests.

  • Assisting the chef in serving & clearing breakfast and dinner, often making cakes for afternoon tea.
  • Act as a source of information for guests and be the first point of contact for any queries, providing a high level of customer service at all times including carrying out a weekly welcome speech for new guests.
  • Maintaining the chalet to high standard of cleanliness daily.
  • A full chalet changeover on Saturday for new guests, including fresh linen, a full clean and restock where needed.
  • Daily testing and maintaining the correct chemical levels in our hot tubs .
  • Snow clearing when necessary.

Toys Manager

We’re looking for an experienced ski tech to take charge of our fleet of Armada skis and Bataleon & Lobster snowboards and co-ordinate the fittings in-house for our guests (you get to try all the kit out too!)

The successful applicant will have experience in fully servicing and fitting ski and snowboard equipment and ideally have the skills for any necessary basic maintenance in our six chalets in La Plagne.

Brief job description:

  • Fitting guest equipment on their arrival night/ changeover day.
  • Be available and on hand to make sure guests are happy with their provided equipment.
  • Maintain the condition of all the rental equipment.
  • Maintain stock levels of merchandise displayed throughout the chalets.
  • In resort sales of skis, snowboards and merchandise.
  • Maintenance across our chalets (desirable)
  • There will be some driving involved e.g. distributing rental equipment to all chalets.

All Applicants Must:

  • Have a powerful work ethic and desire to complete your job to a high standard with attention to detail
  • A sense of fun and enthusiasm for the job, our company, and our guests
  • Experience of working in a professional hospitality setting and an understanding that the guests come first
  • Have extensive cooking experience/qualifications for chef roles
  • Work independently as well as in a team
  • Excellent guest relations and interpersonal skills
  • Good self-motivation
  • Organised and pro-active, with high level of job flexibility
  • Excellent time keeping and reliability
  • Friendly & outgoing
  • Be determined to perform all aspects of your role to the highest standards and take pride in your work, whether it be housekeeping, food preparation & presentation, chalet administration or guest interaction.
  • Have a keen interest in people – you will have daily interaction with our guests and play a huge part in making our guests’ holiday so we’re after a sociable personality who will enjoy getting to know new guests every week and build a rapport.
  • Ideally hold a UK driving licence but not essential
